Wedding Outfit Fail

17 Jun

The day after I got out of school Andrew and I took off for a weekend in Las Vegas.  Our original intent was to attend a friend’s wedding but we decided to also take a little time for ourselves (we won 5 bucks by the way.  Woo!)

So here was the info we got from the wedding invitation:  they wanted us to wear brown/tan and white.  At first the invitation said to dress semi-formal, but then we got a follow-up email saying that we would be sitting on the grass and cement in the park.  Invite said “we still want people to look nice, but keep in mind that you will be sitting on the ground.”

My thought?  No dress.  It actually created a bit of stress for me.  What to wear?  Brown and white, nice, but not too nice.  Hmm.

Both Andrew and I decided it was probably a bit more casual then, and nice jeans with the right look would be acceptable.

I thought we looked nice.

But then…

we noticed that everyone, in fact, was dressed semi-formal and we were the ONLY ONES WEARING JEANS!

It probably wouldn’t have felt as awkward if there were different colors but our blue jeans stood out pretty well.

After us both stressing for about an hour, we decided that there was nothing we could do and tried to let go.

Still had a good time.

THIS IS WHY GIRLS CALL EACH OTHER TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY SHOULD WEAR!

Hmmm…I’ve heard of stating the dress code but never of dictating colors a guest should wear to a wedding. Sorry you guys had to stress, but glad you had fun! 🙂

At least you matched each other! My mind would have gone to the casual side like yours did with the info given. Thankfully, you two look good no matter what you wear!!
