My ears itch

29 Mar

So I candled my ears about a week and a half ago.  I have done it twice and I guess I should have done my research BEFORE I did it.  My ears are itchy.  This happened last time but I just thought it was because I kept Q-tipping my ears afterwards.  So I got online to see why my ears might be itching.  I found more and more stuff about how these ear cones don’t actually work.  It felt good at the time.  Thinking your are getting all that stuff out of your ears.  Like popping a really good zit.  But I heard that the gunk left over is just wax from the candle.  I don’t want to buy one just to experiment – they are too expensive.

Anyway, if you are even thinking of coning your ears.  Please at least check out a few websites.  This blog post in particular I thought was pretty good.

My Life List

28 Mar

The only other person I know who has an actual “Life List” is Heather Whittaker. I have had this list in my head for a long time and I finally sat down and wrote it out one day.  So here are all the things (so far) that I would like to do in my lifetime and things I have already done.  I am sure this list will continue to grow because I want to do, be, and experience everything.

Be a killer whale trainer for a day

Go on a Safari

Visit all the (habitable) continents

North America South America Europe

Africa Asia Australia

See Celine Dion in concert

Scuba dive

Hike Half Dome

Shoot a gun from a running horse

The end of an era

19 Mar

Yesterday marked a pretty significant day for me and my siblings.  I lost my last grandparent yesterday.  She was my favorite and she outlived all the other grandparent when we thought she would be the first to go.dscn0350

This is my cousin and her at a family reunion a few years ago.

We were fortunate enough to have another family reunion just a few weeks ago where I could see her again.  I got to talk to her the night before she passed away.  I am very sad to have lost her but feel relieved at the same time.  She did not want to be in that hospital anymore.

My favorite days on Sundays as a kid was when Grandma would come over and read the comics to me.

She is with Jesus and I am thankful for the life she had here on earth.
