A few things I wouldn’t change

A few months ago a friend asked me what I would change about myself if I could.  I got to thinking about that again today but decided to change my thinking and list a few things that I wouldn’t change before I post the things I would change.

A few things I wouldn’t change about myself would be:

  • My taste in men (I got a pretty good one)
  • My strength as the communicator.  I feel comfortable talking in front of people, which, incidentally is what many people would say is something they hate
  • My ability to sing
  • My feet
  • My freckles
  • My ability to manage a classroom full of 35 adolescent, hormonal teenagers
  • My ability to relate almost any situation to a Friends quote
  • My story-telling ability.  (Most stories start with “one time when I was in the 4th grade.”  It was a big year for me)

This was a bit hard because for almost everything I just wrote, I thought of a way I could improve it, but that wasn’t the point of this post.

If you read this, COMMENT!! Tell me 2 things you wouldn’t change about yourself.

  • You’re so funny…I would think it would be much harder to do it your way, since we are usually our own worst critics. For me, the two things I would not change are my strength in getting through tough times (God-given strength of course), and my mad Scrabble skills. :)

  • I would not change that I like people, I like helping them, I like filling “love tanks.”
I would not change the fact that I love to read books and really love to sit with my kids as we all read together. But does that make me lazy??? IDK :-)

This post is great! So uplifting and a great way to end the week.

I wouldn’t change my smile or my need to be around people.

  • I love that you have your feet on the list. thats not something you see everyday. I gotta say I had a hard time picking 2 things I wouldn’t change cause there are so many things I would change. but I finally got two 1st I wouldn’t change my ability to make almost anybody giggle about every time I see them and 2nd I can pull a movie quote out to fit almost any situation. weather I say it out loud or not I got one. pretty lame things but thats what I got. :)

  • I love your freckles, too!

I wouldn’t change my patience for others who don’t learn as fast as me and I wouldn’t change my smile.

  • Good Question Becca. I love good questions!! :)

First two things that came to my mind:

1.) I would not change the fact that I cry easily. I remember getting embarrassed when I was younger b/c I would cry when I would share from my heart or when I heard other people share. I wished I could make the tears stop, but then I realized God made me that way. :) … and it’s a good thing.

    2.) My smile. I like it. :)

  • I love your list! Your Friends quoting is so true! :)
I would not change my desire to love on and inspire my students & the fact that I am Asian (It took me 20 years to be ok with that!)
